Mary Hart is an attorney and the founder of The Hart Law Group, P.C. in Asheville, NC.  For over 25 years, she has represented a broad cross-section of clients in a variety of matters including wills, trusts, estate and gift tax planning (including estate planning for family owned businesses and large estates), long term care and Medicaid planning, trust and estate administration and litigation, guardianship matters, income taxation, self-directed IRAs, commercial and residential real estate law (including §1031 exchanges, real estate closings, and lease/contract negotiations), construction law, contract law, and business law.

Mary is also the owner of Carolina 1031 Exchange, LLC which serves as a Qualified Intermediary and Exchange Accommodation Titleholder for Section 1031 like-kind tax-deferred exchanges.

Mary is a licensed North Carolina real estate broker, an active real estate investor and a nationally renowned educator on topics of interest to real estate investors.

Mary received her Juris Doctor from Franklin Pierce Law Center (now known as The University of New Hampshire School of Law) in 1991 with an undergraduate degree in Economics from Davidson College in 1986.  Mary holds licenses to practice law in North Carolina and Alaska.  Her professional associations include membership in the Alaska Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.  Mary is a current member of the real property and estate planning sections of the North Carolina Bar Association.  She is the founder and past president of the Southeast Alaska Estate Planning Council and a former member of the Alaska Bar Association Estate Planning/Probate and Elder Law sections.

    Just listened to your podcast with Mary Hart. Thank you so much for having her as a guest. I have been trying to explain 1031’s to my clients but haven’t been successful in getting the point across. This has clarified a lot for me. Hope I can get a seat at her event.

    It was interesting to note that many of the books both of you mentioned are all of my favorites. Thanks again for this inspiring podcast.
